Beaches
The main beach is in front of Penny's, another is situated on the other side of the village, along with a beautiful natural rockpool. If you want to be alone, the beaches along Beecroft Headland and the northern side of Jervis Bay are for you, with the crystal clear waters of the South Coast making it ideal for snorkelling and diving.
Bushwalking
Across Beecroft Headland you will find well marked walking tracks through coastal heath, wildflowers, magnificent craggy coastline, native fauna and some great fishing spots. Most of the side tracks will take you to safe and secluded beaches.
Shops
The village caters for all the neccessities
with a General Store, a Newsagency/Post Office, Liquor Store
& Service Station.
For any major shopping, Callala Bay (8 minutes drive) has
a Supermarket, Bakery, Chicken Shop & Butcher; whilst
Nowra has all of the major chain stores.
Restaurants and Food
Locally at Currarong (10 minutes
walk from Penny's) is Zac's BYO Seafood Cafe (bookings are
essential), cooked takeaway or fresh to bring back to Penny's
to cook & eat - owned and operated by a local fissing
family. The Bowling & Recreation Club has a bistro.
Whilst at Greenwell Point (the Seafood centre of the South
Coast) 15 minutes drive; you will find the best Oysters
on the coast; a top class licensed restaurant (Pelican Rocks);
a fresh seafood establishment (Backgate Seafoods) &
a cooked takeaway shop in the waterfront reserve.
For that day out
A local charter boat "Beach
Daze" operates snorkelling or cruising trips on Jervis
Bay, the Dolphin Watch and Baywatch cruise boats operate
from Huskisson (45 minutes away), a tour of the local wineries
each Saturday morning is also very popular - any of these
can be booked through Penny's.
Within 1 hour's drive you can visit
historic Kangaroo Valley, Berry, the Navy Museum at HMAS
Albatross, the Lady Denman Maritime Museum and the Jervis
Bay Botanical Gardens. Whilst on each Sunday, "Bundanon",
the property gifted to the nation by the late artist, Arthur
Boyd, is open for inspection.
